We made it......
Well, we haven't heard From Rob and Naarah but that is to be expected. They should be wandering home probably Monday.
Off to print some pictures today. Tom managed to take some good ones. Don't be fooled, he took most of the pictures at the wedding, I was busy dealing with the video.
Don't ask, I haven't watched it. For as much as I love video, I guess I don't enjoy the editing as much as I would like to.
I enjoy the picture montages that I make, so, I need all the millions of pictures from Naarah to start the fun. We don't have 1/2 the pictures that were taken and I really want some of the fun ones that Carolyn and Joel took. They took them out to places on the island to get some cool shots.
Well, hope you have a good weekend. We are trying to.

I know, I know, I changed it again. I think this name might stick much longer. No more First year stuff.

WE LIVE
Hi, we made it home. I was going to post on Sunday night, but the island connection was bad. The whole thing was lovely. Cold, but lovely.
Naarah looked great and Rob can really pull off a kilt. I was impressed that he got his brother Mike to dress funny too. LOL :~)
I forgot how nice the island is as a get away. This was my first time actually staying on the island and it is sooo worth it. I'd love to go when it is warmer, but that is the whole reason you go to the island, there didn't used to be air conditioning, the island stays at least 10 degrees cooler than almost anywhere south of there.
The Horses work HARD on that island. Although they have better hours than most of the human workers. They are 6 hours on, so many off, 6 on and then 24 hours off.
Anyway, it was fun. I have pictures, but you have to wait until I get home. Some pictures are trapped on Naarah's laptop until they get back, but I think we got a good chunk onto Tom's MP# player to bring home and then filled up the card again. Dang, have to get another memory stick before we go traveling again.

The Bachelorette Party
I am extremely happy to say that nothing horrible happened at the outing.
We all stayed Sober (due to the fact we all have to drive to Mackinac Island today), and we got a good gift for Naarah without any planning at all. We went to Mongolian BBQ over in Novi and then hit Lucky's in the New Fountainwalk. For those of you who go- ok what is Lucky's, just think Dave and Busters - not as big, but they are going to get a bowling alley on the 2nd floor sometime soon. YES, now I am looking forward to that.
Tom is still in bed, I am getting equipment and clothes ready to go and well, we will be off shortly.
Have a great weekend and we'll see YOU on the island. Or Not.

SICK
Oh, so sick.
What did I do.....? Friday- I was a walking zombie at work, Saturday- I barely moved from my chair and today does not look much better. Although now when I blow my nose there does seem to be stuff coming out.
I caught some horrible head cold. It started out as a soar throat on Wednesday or Thursday. I can't feel my throat anymore for the rest of the problems I am having.
Good thing I went clothes shopping on Wednesday.
Now I have three outfits and don't know which one to wear. oh well.
Sorry to have missed stuff on Saturday.
Must go to work tomorrow. ewww

Reading
Been doing a bit of reading lately.
Tom was messing around online and found out - HURRAY - Jim Butcher put out his next book.
It is in hardcover at the moment. But I don't care.
We have 1-6 in paperback and they were worth it.
I was just informed that the newest Laura Hamilton was a total waste. Much worse than anything else. I think she lost the ability to tell a story, she just wants to tell you who or what the main character is doing at the moment. (Take that how you wish.)
Of course, we turned off the heat because it was 80 on Tuesday. Now it is 50 and we are all freezing at work. I swear we can not win.
I have pictures to post. We finally went rock hunting at Tom's Parents house. He wasn't kidding about the many rocks just sitting there waiting for you to walk by and get them. We re-did the whole front of the house - where the plantings are - with rocks. I know - get the pictures up.

May, dang it's May
It's May 11th and do you have an outfit for whatever upcoming wedding you are expected to be at.
I certainly don't, and I guess I have to do something about that. I don't even know where I want to start looking? The dress shops that I like are mostly gone, and I don't keep up on any fashions at all. What's right for a 34 year old married teacher to be wearing to a wedding. I will not wear a suit. I don't wear them for work, why in the world would I want to wear one to a wedding.
Work - Yep, still making it there everyday. The last 2 weeks have been very strange. We have an Ed Performance test that all the students must take. Basically we decided it was easier to pull them all from English, because They are always in at least one English class. So, that means I have had 4 days so far that have been messed up by testing. The first two we did all but 1 class. Now, we are getting all the stragglers from all of my classes and the one we missed the first time around.
I am trying to get the students ready to read Julius Cesear - Shakespeare. I started reading it myself. The first act is sort of interesting. Wow, I always forget the millions of allusions that Shakespeare uses. I keep telling the students that they have to know Shakespeare to understand the allusions to everything else they read or watch. Now, I have to dredge up information on all the stuff that Shakespeare alluded to. Oh no. I'm not sure where I will find most of it.
Free time - ok - I don't think I really have free time. BUT - I do have to take reading breaks from the rest of the world. Currently Tom and I are enamored with Lynn Kurland. She writes historical romance novels. Either one or both of the main characters travel from the present to the past or the other way around. In one, they traveled both ways more than once. The stories take place in England and Scotland, two places that I like and would like to see. So, I am enjoying the scenery of it all. I love when the characters drive in the present and talk about the sheep blocking the road all the time. It reminds me of Ireland.
Paul and Michelle just got back from Ireland, they said it was pretty, about 55 and rainy most of the trip. That is why I went in July, it was 65, and mostly sunny the whole trip. But, what are you going to do....
I might start a new blog to write short stories or novels or something. Maybe I can get some of my own poetry done. Let me know if you are interested. Maybe I can add other peoples stuff and we can make it an open blog.
The hour of freedom is up and I have to get back to grading. Ed Performance strikes once again.

What, What?? A Play
Oh my, I am supposed to be putting on a play.
Anyone out there feel the real need to be doing something helpful with their life right about now...
Ok, the kids are pretty good, and they mostly know their lines. I am going to need a bit of help getting the set done. I turned in my "LAST" copy of the gear I need to do a background.
(oh man I sound like the kids.) I guess we would be buying the wood and stuff in the next week or so.
They wanted me to do the play the 26th and 27th of May. I realized that is the dumbest idea possible for me. NO WAY- I need Memorial weekend to actually put the set together. OH MY
oh well.
I'm thinking about changing the name of the blog. I haven't gotten around to doing that yet. I wonder how much trouble I am going to have doing that.
I need to go ponder life.
