I know, I know, I changed it again. I think this name might stick much longer. No more First year stuff.

Computer support we all could use sometimes.
Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition, Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 10.3 , Football 5.0 , Hunting and Fishing 7.5, and Racing 3.6. I can't seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I'm thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0, but the
uninstall doesn't work on Wife 1.0. Please help!
Thanks,
A Troubled User. (KEEP READING)

Dear Troubled User:
This is a very common problem that men complain about.
Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0, thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING!!! It is also impossible to delete Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfriend 7.0. It is impossible to uninstall, or
purge the program files from the system once installed.
You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony-Child Support. I recommend that you keep Wife1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the background application "Yes Dear" to alleviate software
augmentation.
The best course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE because ultimately you will have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will return to normal anyway.
Wife 1.0 is a great program, but it tends to be very high maintenance. Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs, such as Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2.
However, be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5 . Once this happens, the only way to improve the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I recommend Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 !
WARNING!!! DO NOT, under any circumstances, install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3 . This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and will cause irreversible damage to the operating system.
Best of luck,
Tech Support

Gibson waking up from a nap on Thanksgiving. No turkey for you...
Ok, this was bugging me - Radio.
There are 3 or 4 kinds of radio now. Ok regular AM and FM radio - boring except for NPR and one or two other things. I like Bob and Tom in the morning, but they don't play in my area, I'm lucky if I get them off the Toledo station.
Internet radio - you can listen to almost anything you want, depending on if you can find it. There are probably 20 to 50 providers of something and always NPR and the archives, which can be even better than what is on right now.
XM satellite or Sirus radio - Tried listening to that yesterday while working on the ceiling. XM is now on our DirecTV satellite - it used to just be whatever DirecTV did, now they make it easier on themselves and play someone else's play list.
But here is the kicker - I put it on 80's music figuring I would enjoy myself. I listen to the Best of the 80's on Yahoo radio. HUGE DIFFERENCE.
XM plays whatever Crappy 80's song they can dig up, at least Yahoo tries to make a distinction between something that came out in the 80's and something that hit a chart. Tom puts up with what I listen too a lot, but dang Even I didn't want to listen to the XM radio anymore.
We were working on the basement ceiling, yes, I know
- OH MY GOD.
This is what it is supposed to look like.
This is what most of the ceiling still looks like.
Yup, still got a ton of work to do.
Have to shorten all the metal pieces, because with the drywall you lost a 1/4 in at least and everything else .
Well, at least you can walk down the stairs and the ceiling is done all the way to the far wall in front of the book shelves.
Did I say I hate ceiling tiles? Well, I do.

Budweiser Dot Com
I was trying to find a way to put it into the blog.
But as Budweiser says, that would be irresponsible. Arg Because they want you to be over 21 to get into their website.
Anyway, here is the link - Budweiser to go see the 3 commercials.
Hit the button for the Entertainment section and The TV Commercials are listed on the bottom all the way at the left.
There are a couple other commercials, but as you know - we could care less unless the horses are in the shot. Oh yeah, I have seen info on the Superbowl commercial. Lets just say that our little Donkey friend is back.
OH, the Snowball Fight commercial won a Hugo Award - or was on their list. Hit a few websites before I decided that I had to hit the Budweiser site. (Just as a warning - I do not drink Budweiser- don't bother getting it as a gift.) LOL

The Weekend is over already?
Yes, I must speak on that. The Emagine Novi theater.
It opened in 2002 and we started going there after the theater over by Costco started having really terrible sound, and the AMC 20 was always packed.
There were almost no people at any of the showings. Even when a couple of restaurants opened in the same area. Basically it was ok until the day they opened Lucky's Restaurant and gaming center. It has a bar and games and draws lots of people. You thought I was going to say Hooters, nah - it brought a lot more people but not that many. (Interesting link, you may find funny.)
So now, you can't just wander in and get a good seat anymore. You have to plan, like going to the AMC 20. That sucks. I guess we could get tickets on Fandango or something but come on, that takes the fun out of just going to the movies... Oh well.
Now, I won't say that I don't like Lucky's. Because I do like the place. I have had a good time there more than once. But, I guess I miss having the movie theater all to ourselves.
Now, Homework, eww.

So I took the test......
I am certainly a nerd. :~)
Pure Nerd 56 % Nerd, 43% Geek, 13% Dork |
For The Record: A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. You scored better than half in Nerd, earning you the title of: Pure Nerd. The times, they are a-changing. It used to be that being exceptionally smart led to being unpopular, which would ultimately lead to picking up all of the traits and tendences associated with the "dork." No-longer. Being smart isn't as socially crippling as it once was, and even more so as you get older: eventually being a Pure Nerd will likely be replaced with the following label: Purely Successful. Congratulations! |

It's a cold captain
Yes, I have a cold. How do I know I have a cold?
The yellow snot - that would be it......
Now lets see, who should we blame it on...?
Tom, nope he isn't sick.
Paul, he is sick, but I only saw him yesterday. We talked on the phone, but I don't think that counts.
Naarah- well she is always sick, or getting over being sick. Yes, I should blame Naarah. Although I saw her last Monday, and just now am I getting sick.
Hmm, I could blame - Mom, Michael or his girl friend, I saw all of them on Saturday - and I did have a major headache while I was there.
Or I could just blame it on the weather and be done with it.
Tom wants me to visit him for lunch. I guess that means I have to go get dressed for being in Public. He is working on this side of town today.
Later.

Oh how sad, Nothing better to do than Blog.
You have to go see Naarah's for the link to the Upside down Christmas trees. People will do anything they see in a dang store.
You have to read Carrie's blog for a new word in my world. "Chunter" I have to go look that on up.
Yesterday I went to sort of an interview. Hurray you say....
Well that depends. Am I going to change my world again? Especially have the thousands of dollars spent on becoming a teacher.
The interview - what for you ask - Real Estate Agent.
Ok, you ask - WHY? Well, if you know me - I hit the open houses all around me and always check out the condo's that have been going up. Oh yeah, funny, the agent who helped Tom buy this house now works at the office I went too. They asked how my own experiences had gone and I was talking about how nice our agent was and BAM, the lady said, "Oh, she works here now."
WHY NOT? Have to take a class and pay money. Have at least $100 to $200 a month in payouts to use all the computers and stuff. Have to knock on doors and work weekends. (ok, done weekends before, but knocking on doors - I quit Avon rather than do that.)
The question becomes, do I want to try every job in the world? I have done Fast Food, I have done retail as an associate and a Manager. I have working in Public Access Television, and even some advertising while I was there. I'm a teacher and a substitute teacher. AND Sort of, but not really a horse trainer and farm kid.
I guess I should go bug the people at PBS, now that they are down the street and around the corner.
Tom says take a couple more classes in Winter semester and try to get finished with my masters. Oh fun. No, really it is a good idea. When else am I going to have this kind of time other than over the summer.
Alright, off I go to pick up my employee file.

Tammy Needs:
I typed in on Google - Tammy Needs.
And this is the garbage I got back.
1. Tammy Needs To Know is a performance installation that incorporates autobiographical text, original music and audience interaction. (ok so I'm going to perform in public?)
2.Tammy Needs to Find showtimes, cast and crew listings, reviews, and more for Broadway and OffBroadway shows.
3. Tammy needs (in the UK) Comprehensive and up-to-date guide to What's On in the UK, including live music, clubs, cinema, comedy and theatre.
4. Tammy needs: a new home. (Why? What's wrong with the one I have?) Tammy needs:a group in Spokane. (I do? I've never been to Spokane. ...
5. Tammy needs more opportunities to be creative. (I can handle that one)
6. Tammy needs all information by January 5th, 2003 in order to post it on the website. (I'd like to know which website though.)
7. Tammy needs a fan blowing on her constantly. Tammy needs a new brain. Tammy needs to put the fork down and take care of herself ... (getting a little pushy)
8. Lois Weaver's solo performance installation What Tammy Needs to Know was presentedat Dixon Place in February 2004. (It seems that I am actually a musical or something.)
9. Tammy needs constant care. You can feed her, put her to sleep, play music, play cards, teach her, give her medical care, punish her, and clean her area. ... ( I must be a pet- down farther I saw it again and I think I'm a virtual fish)
10. Tammy should not marry him until she finds out. I know Tammy needs to find outmore about him. Why don't Jonathan tell Tammy him and Ava are married. ... (I am also on a soap opera.)(eww and bad grammar)
I guess I have a fairly interesting life. I also work in real estate, I'm in charge of posting things on web sites and promotions. The musical or play thing really interests me, they keep mentioning that I need to get tickets to my own show ( What Tammy Needs to Know).
It was as horrible as I thought. Hope you found it at least a little entertaining.

Halloween
I claimed that I had put stuff up on my own blog about Halloween candy and in actuality I had put comments on everyone else's blogs on the topic, sooooo - it's not here.
Halloween candy - Tom bought big bars this year. We have to compete with the neighbors across the street. Long ago and far away I posted about their Christmas decorations and they were named "Rainbow F-in Randolph" in honor of "Kill Smoochie". They decorated the big tree out front in 10 different colors of lights wrapped up the trunk. They have younger girls.
Lets see if I can find a picture....
Nope, sorry - from the 2 mega pixel camera or a 35 mm pic. So, I'll have to scan it when I find the hard copy.
OK - so the whole point of that.
The people across the street spend a lot of money on holidays. Including Halloween and all the kids want to hit their house for candy, because of all the giant blow up spiders and crap in their yard.
Those kids who did come to our door got the big bars and Tom was so excited to hear them walk away going OOOHHH. I was also the only person to identify a child as a Bionical and he seemed rather impressed.
What else is going on...
I have seen the new buildings that Tom wanders out the door to supposedly go to work everyday now. Nice looking place, they were putting in a new sidewalk so that they can stay out of the street when going from one building to the other.
The funny thing is that most of you know what he is doing but to post it here would be bad - he is really in the Research and development with Chrysler now and well, the new car has not been announced. OPPs. They have a ban on picture cell phones in the testing area he goes to at the big Chrysler plant over there off 75.
Hopefully we will get Tom's Jeep back today. I'm tired of being without a car to drive. Yes he stole the Grand Marquis and left me stranded at home. I have to call someone to see if they will pick me up now for a lunch.

Fall
If you haven't looked outside today, the wind took almost everything away yesterday. I haven't looked outside, but I was in it yesterday. We finally buttoned up the house. Found the storm windows for the basement and put in the big glass door on the front.
You would not believe the difference that door makes. I want a new front door, but I am terrified to ruin the seal of the storm/screen door and figure they would just tear it up if I put in a new door.
Everquest 2 will be a year old on Wednesday, are you ready for the fun. I will get a new title on the front of my main character, as I have played all year- "The Loyal". LOL Actually the bad news is, that our guilds on my server SUCK big time. We have like 50 guilds with an average of 10 players per guild. Or else it seems that way because I NEVER see anyone in my guilds (2) and also never see more than one or two people with the same guild name on.
We all need to De-guild and start again, but wait you lose all your points. CRAP I guess I'll have to do that again.
Oh well, that idea blew.
Need a fax machine today, hmm. Guess I'll get Rob and Narrah to stop at UPS store, they are kidnapping me to a cider mill. Ok, I have cider, but the donuts sound good.
