Cedar Point

WOOOOOO HOOOOOO
We survived a crazy day at Cedar Point. In case you were wondering - YES I did actually ride the Drag Thrill Racer. 420 feet tall, and 120 miles an hour. Mom and I had our eyes closed, we were scared to death, Chris and Michael were insane with their hands up or something.. I do have a picture. But I have to scan it, you'll see it later...
Here are some other pictures I took with a throw away 800 asa film camera (Fuji) from Ritz.

Mike and Chris went on a couple of rides that Mom and I said no way too. We don't do circles and especially circles where you go upside down, or rock like a boat. Ocean motion is not my friend... This ride on the right is called Chaos, yes the cars flip upside down. Mom and I were in charge of all their loot.

The one on the left is called Max air. I do believe that Mike and Chris really are on the ride. I was going to zoom in, but then you lose the scale of how big the ride really is.

These shots are us on the Blue Streak for like the 4th time that day. It rained really hard around 4:30 and we hid in stores. Once it stopped we put the goodies in the locker had some dinner and stayed until they threw us out of the park. IT WAS EMPTY, everyone got wet and went home.

We rode all the rides.. The Gemini finally opened again and the Mine Ride.

This is my favorite shot of the day.....
We were bad and took pictures on the ride, we could have been removed from the park... opps lol
Anyway, enjoy. I have a couple more, but these were certainly the best. And needless to say, we looked rough at the end of the day...

Throwing a Party

Hi All,

I know I mentioned once before that we are planning a party..
I realized that we have to get the roof done, so better plan the party for after?? whatever...

I do know that I wont be ready in 3 weeks. So.....
The party is in July.. The question now is July 8th or the 15th?
Does anyone have a major preference???
You may leave a comment here, or send me email... I guess I'll send email to most people about it anyway...
July 8th is the end of the 4th of July week, so how many people will be on the road returning from somewhere???? Let me know.

Darn, moving to much to actually get the name of the place. Oh well, it is near the Best Buy and stuff on Haggerty. Posted by Picasa

Was going through my stuff and forgot about these pictures. Tear down the old to put in the new, don't know what is going there. Posted by Picasa

Old Motel on 8Mile and Haggerty in Novi/Farmington. They were tearing it down, on our anniversary. Tom and I were out driving around, so we took a couple pictures. Posted by Picasa

Seeing things...... (EDIT)

I must preface this post by saying that YES and NO - I was seeing things... My husband did leave the note on my desk from Detroit Country Day Middle School. The problem is that it was from the original message on the answering machine. Tom has dyslexia and it was Call back on Tuesday, meaning she originally called me on Monday and there was a lot more to the message on the machine..... (we had to go listen to it to get it right.)

There was also another message from an insurance company stating - I have your resume, I think you would fit in here, give me a call. Well of course they have my resume - it is posted on the internet. Tom thought I sent it to them. I doubt it..... Anyway, I'll call them and ask, and how does one get paid at your company. If it is 100 percent commission you can kiss my A**.
I have a teacher friend who got into a mortgage company - 100 % commission, that was February - ummm it is the end of May and she STILL has not seen a paycheck.

So, here is the original post in all my too early in the morning to function glory.

I feel like I am seeing things..
I think my husband is trying to make me crazy... Or I already am and just don't know it.
(How could he go all day yesterday and not call me or tell me when I got home last night?????)

There is a note sitting in front of my computer.. It says.

Persons name (keeping the masses safe)
Detroit Middle School
(phone number)
Tues call Back(s)
AM I SEEING THINGS....
Did they really call and want to see me again. NAARAH - I need to get into your closet? Where is that suit? I only have the one now....
AHHHHHHHHHH
I work 11-7 today and 12 to 8pm tomorrow (or later as it is inventory)
Heart attack, I think I am going to have a heart attack...

Interviews and Work,,,, union anyone

HOWDY -
Ok, I still feel run down - no sun - I feel mold growing on me...
But, hey everyone else in Michigan feels the same way right now.

Monday - Interview at Detroit Country Day Middle School. For those of you who don't know, that is probably the most prestegious school system in Michigan. Ask me later what the tution is..... I thought the interview went well, though I am not sure that I am type A enough to work there. I would guess they don't sleep...

Sun-Mon-Tues - working for a living at Novi Ritz camera. It isn't bad, I am making my goals and seeing people that I enjoyed meeting long ago when I first worked at Ritz. They are all so very nice and the new equipment makes doing photos so much more fun.
I sold a camera to a lady who bought a 360 lens, to do those virtual reality room shots, like in the hotel rooms and realitor sites. Very cool, we had fun playing with it.

Tuesday - Well, off to the lawyers for all the fun to go with my previous employement. We are working on it. We may know something come July...

Tuesday - The teachers at Old Redford Academy charter schools voted FOR the union on Tuesday evening. I expect there to be a big write up in the paper and hopefully some stuff on the news. This is a big deal for Charter schools and the MEA.

Wednesday - I am hanging out at home doing laundry, and cleaning some. I should be painting but man everything feels a little moldy to me.. ewwww
I work the next 4 days straight and we are doing inventory on Sunday night. This will be a long weekend. ugh.

Sick

That is how I feel...
Whether I really am or not, is totally up for grabs.
The weather here isn't helping, although I sort of like the rain, getting tired of being cold.

I have an interview tomorrow and that is probably part of my problem.

Well, off to work today.
Happy Mother's Day to everyone that applies too. :~)

Off to WORK....

Ewww, the 3 most horrible words on this planet.
(I can think of others, but this will do for now.)

I actively started looking for work on Saturday. And well, today I go to training for Ritz.
I stopped a couple places on Saturday and realized that yes, I would rather work at Ritz camera again.
So, I called The District Manager on Monday and ask for a deal. Basically I said I would cover for people on vacation and work with Gordon at the Novi store.
She tells me she needs help at the Summersett Mall store, they have a good business going there. Well, the Dm and the manager at SS have different ideas of what they need......
Gordon will get me hours, and I will probably make more there than other places. (Get commission)
I thought I had an interview for a key holder position yesterday and opps they got that wrong.. No way am I doing clothing for 6.50 an hour. NO WAY...

Anyway, wish me luck.. Naarah and I go to training today. LOL see ya there.

Oh my the Semester is DONE!!!!!

It seems that once again I have scraped through another semester at Wayne State University. Making it only one more class and I will have a MASTERS Degree. Never thought you would see the day DID YA??
I guess having the "Year" off from working has one up side.

The bad news is that Unemployement is OVER and I have to get a job. ANY JOB....
I have hit Ritz and begged and pleaded for someone to take me.
I applied to a couple of schools, but those are mostly for the fall.
I have been applying to all kinds of office positions over the last several months, but none of those panned out either.
Guess it is time to Hit the Mall. When all else fails, hit the retail. Hopefully all the other college kids have not stolen all the jobs.

Other strange things....

There is a radio station that Tom likes to listen to - 95.5 in Detroit. I probably listened once upon a time. They are doing a BLING contest. So, Tom made me email in my ring. I'm not sure if I gave them the right information, other than the picture, but we'll see. So, you have to go to the sight and vote on MY ring. http://2004.channel955.com/mojo_engagement_ring_idol.html

That should get you to the page where the rings are. Now if you don't remember, my ring is GREEN and WHITE, (does that remind you of anything?) It should put my first name with the ring. Right now it is two rings that were up yesterday. Change it already!

Guess that is it for the moment.

Although Carrie has a great MEME going on her blog and Then on his April 20th Post - Matt has a great bit on Old English and therapy for Lady Macbeth.
If you like a little high brow humor, it is good.

Oh, and just a note - Save the Date - June 24th 2006 - Birthday party bonanza happening at our house. More to come, email me if you need directions...

Drowning in Homework...

I feel sick.
I feel literally sick... (maybe it was the peanut butter kisses....)
I have so much homework to finish for Thursday before 3pm.
This is my last week of school for the semester at Wayne State. I have one final exam on Monday and I would rather take 3 of those than do this project that is sucking the life and fun out of me at the moment.
It is SOOOO not fair (it's my own fault that I procrastinate) that my last week of school is spring break when my friends are off work... arg
I got 1/4 or more of the project done today. Maybe I'll finish tomorrow.
Talk to everyone after Thursday night...

DO you know what today is????

TODAY is our Anniversary...
2 Years.

Yes, I can hardly believe it myself.
Tom made this picture for me the other day and I really like it.
I hope you do too.

Spring, it really is here.

Before I forget.
Paul and I decided that yesterday was the official first day of spring on Our personal calendars.
Why?
Could it be because it was Paul's birthday and we wandered around all day?
Could it be because the weather was nice and we had ice cream?
( I could come up with more, but on a school work deadline, sooo.)

It was because, as we were driving around yesterday, we had the first official SPLAT of a bug on Paul's windshield.
That is our definition of the first day of spring!

Piggie Update

I know, forever talking about Guinea Pigs.....

But this is important. I own a Guinea Pig that is Allergic to HAY.
What could be more depressing than that?
I took Winslow to the vet and he was wheezing when I got there. Hmm, he had been fine before hand. Well, he rode in a carrier filled with HAY. We checked his white blood cells in his snot. At least we only stuck a slide on his nose this time.
He had allergy cells. FIGURES.

I have to change his type of hay, and shake out all the little loose stuff, especially the Dust.
As long as he doesn't lose weight again, he should be ok.

School - ok I have like 2 weeks left of College classes and major projects to do. DON'T invite me out. Too many things to do. I think I have to go to Detroit to actually get some work done. ewwww
Talk to you later, I have to run.

What God are you?

Ok, So everyone else took the test and I was really interested in what it would say about me.
So, here is what mine came out to be on the old god test..
Hit Tales of a shrink or Carrie's blog to get the link.
Thoth
Indeed, you are 70% erudite, 62% sensual, 41% martial, and 33% saturnine.

Thoth, the Egyptian God of secret wisdom, intellect, geometry and other forms of higher mathematics, was also the God of books and learning, of writing and numbers. And above all, he was the God of Magic. Indeed, he was the first and greatest of all magicians, said to create miracles from nothing by the mere vibrations of his voice alone.

Within his main temple were said to be stored his books of magic which were open for the edification of all, providing those absorbing this magic understood its sacred content. Over the centuries, these books were said to have been carefully translated by various priests of secret orders until finally, the Greeks compiled them as the works of Hermes Trismegistus.
One book most everyone is familiar with which is attributed to the mysteries of the God Thoth is the Tarot, considered to be an unbound book of symbols that may be read in an endless variety of sequences imitating the random nature of existence itself.

The Fifteen Gods
These are the 15 categories of this test. If you score above average in …
…all or none of the four variables: Dagda. … Erudite: Thoth. … Sensual: Frey. … Martial: Mars. … Saturnine: Mictlantecuhtli. … Erudite & Sensual: Amun. … Erudite & Martial: Odin. … Erudite & Saturnine: Anubis. … Sensual & Martial: Zeus. … Sensual & Saturnine: Cernunnos. … Martial & Saturnine: Loki. … Erudite, Sensual & Martial: Lug. … Erudite, Sensual & Saturnine: Coyote. … Erudite, Martial & Saturnine: Hades. … Sensual, Martial & Saturnine: Pan.

PLEDGE, will you?

What a week. It is Thursday and I feel like I have gotten nothing done, but I haven't been home at all..... If you check out Naarah's blog you will see where I was on Monday. After I dropped her off at home, I went to school downtown. Such fun, the traffic on 94 was YUCK....
I had to take 8 mile from M-10 to get home. They have 696 messed up between Southfield road, all the way out to Orchard Lake.
So, if you need to get to anywhere near 696 and Telegraph, or to get on the Lodge, you better take 12 mile or another mile road to get there. It looks like it will be messed up at the MIXING BOWL for months.

Tuesday I spent 4 hours at Michigan Radio in Ann Arbor, answering phones for the NPR Pledge Drive. We did really well, we only missed ONE goal the whole morning. They made all the ones before I got there and we only missed the Noon one by one lousy person. I think they made it up yesterday when I tuned in, they added a little goal to the end of one our and it certainly covered what we had missed. The best time to call is during a matching hour (any amount), or the new member drive (if you can do $100). I want to do the Day sponsorship in the fall. Then April will be up on the Calendar, can you guess what will go there?
Hmm, the number you ask - 888-258-9866.

The possibilities -
Ah from last post. This is still very up in the air.... I have had contact with someone at a school, but whether it goes anywhere is certainly up in the air at the moment.

It's been a week....

How much can happen in a week?

Well, if you are me. A TON....

School - ok we will go there first...
A) I managed to pass my midterm in the annoying sophomore level English class with Flying Colors. I even impressed the teacher with one of my essay question answers. NO way, she hates my writing. I then proceeded to redo the first paper and got 1 more point. Ok, I felt that was a little low, but I may sneak out of there with an 93 percent or something... Thank goodness for quizzes. I blaze on quizzes.....
B) Grad class, hmmm I have reading to do and a major project due in a couple weeks. Don't talk to me about it.

Tom -
Work is going well. He is at a slow time and we are enjoying that. Come fall I will probably never see him. He met the guy who he'll be working with at Chrysler (JNAP) and he said, "You realize that I will be yelling at you a lot, it won't be personal." Tom's reply, "Yeah, I know that, just part of this job."
Hurray, the guy he will be working with is up front. Can ask for more, but a good place to start.

Guinea Pigs-
The good news. The girls weigh a ton, they are getting huge. Tom keeps saying, she must be pregnant, Nope, just a big GIRL. Laverne that is.... Over 800 grams. Gained 200 since we got her.
The Okay news - which went from bad to Okay today..... Winslow is still sick it seems. He has been on Antibiotics for almost 3 weeks now. He takes the medicine without complaint -this is a god send, but he isn't gaining any weight.
Today, I moved him from the travel cage back over by my computer area. The cage is smaller, but I think he prefers it over here, up off the floor. He has been eating ALL DAY. It is almost noon and he is usually asleep by now. Not today, he has been at the hay all morning, eating his pellets and sucking on the water bottle. I need to refill his hay bin already. That makes me feel SOOOO much better. I was really worried about him yesterday.
I should weigh him now that he is full of food. LOL, hmm I guess that would be cheating...

Possibilities -
I don't want to jinx it. Lets just say that going to NPR for my volunteer training was the BEST thing that has happened to me all YEAR... The other thing that fellow Spartans will love, The new Interim Director of Michigan Radio has a Radio/TV (prob Telecom) degree from STATE. He was asking me about Impact Radio and the Wkar TV station. Unfortunately I did more theater stuff, but He is WAY cool. His words, "I keep telling them around here that it takes a Spartan to clean things up." I almost fell on the floor. Hope to have more news in the future.

I am king of the Piggies, you will bow to me... Winslow the WhisperPig. We found a website that will print one t-shirt free, trying to get a good shot for it. This one is pretty good. Posted by Picasa

Well, a little free wheeling time is always good for the sole...... Posted by Picasa

Not to be out done by the girls. Winlsow decides that he must finish the drink also.. Posted by Picasa
